Terms of Use

Effective 3 September 2026. These terms govern your use of docketx.ai and its pages. Using the site means you accept them. The API and paid products carry their own service terms.

1. Information, not legal advice

Everything on this site, every guide, glossary entry, comparison, state page, and recourse page, is general information about the legal system, not legal advice about your situation. DocketX is not a law firm, is not your lawyer, and no attorney–client relationship is ever created by reading this site, contacting us, or using our products. Legal outcomes turn on facts we do not know and law that changes; only a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction who knows your facts can advise you.

2. No warranty of accuracy or currency

We work hard at accuracy, our whole product exists because unverified legal information is dangerous, and we still make no promise that any page is complete, current, or error-free. Laws, rules, deadlines, and procedures change and vary by state, county, and courtroom. Court rules and statutes quoted on this site are reproductions of public records as of the date we retrieved them; the official version published by the issuing authority always controls. THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

3. Do not rely on this site for deadlines or filings

Missing a deadline can end a case. Never calculate a filing deadline, respond to a lawsuit, or make a legal decision based solely on this site. Verify everything against the official source, the court, the statute, the rule, or with a lawyer. If you cannot afford one, start at lsc.gov and our free-help directory.

4. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCKETX AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AND CONTRIBUTORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR RELIANCE ON, THIS SITE OR ITS CONTENT. INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOST CASES, LOST CLAIMS, MISSED DEADLINES, OR LOST PROFITS. EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE CONTENT AT ISSUE, WHICH FOR THIS FREE SITE IS ZERO.

5. Third parties and links

Pages naming other companies, products, courts, or agencies are informational; trademarks belong to their owners and no affiliation or endorsement is implied. Comparison pages state only what we verified about ourselves and pose questions for you to ask vendors, we do not make claims about others. External links are provided for convenience; we do not control and are not responsible for their content.

6. Court records and removals

Some pages reproduce public court records, which are not subject to copyright and may name real people. Our removals policy explains what we publish, why, and how to ask us to take a page down.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use this site to harass anyone, to misrepresent our content as personalized legal advice, to republish our generated content as an official source of law, or to overwhelm our infrastructure. Automated access to public pages is fine within our robots.txt and rate limits.

8. Disputes, governing law, changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute belongs exclusively in the state or federal courts sitting in Texas. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stand. We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do, and continued use after a change is acceptance. Questions: info@docketx.ai.

Plain-language summary, which does not replace the terms above: this site is information, not advice; verify everything that matters; we are not liable for what you do with free general information; and if a page is about you, our removals policy is how you reach us.
