DocketX / Virtual counsel

A research counsel that never bluffs

The Virtual Counsel Desk is on-demand, verified legal research for your business: ask, and get an answer grounded in real law with every citation checked before you see it — plus the audit trail showing exactly what was searched, verified, and removed. It is not a law firm and gives no legal advice. It is the layer that makes you, and the lawyers you do hire, faster and harder to mislead.

The desk

What it does all day

Verified answers on demand

Research questions answered from 615,391 Texas decisions, 122,681 statutes, the U.S. Supreme Court, and word-for-word court rules — unverifiable citations removed and disclosed, never served.

Check what others hand you

Demand letters, AI-drafted memos, opposing markup: paste any citation into the checker and know in seconds whether it exists in 18.1 million real citations.

The record, per request

Every answer carries its provenance — what was retrieved, what was checked, what failed — retrievable by request id whenever anyone asks "where did that come from."

Runs on prepaid credits at $0.01 per retrieval query plus model usage at cost. Start self-serve with a key and a $10 trial allowance, or talk to us about a desk set up for your team.

Private inference: the whole engine on your hardware

When matter content cannot leave your perimeter, the answer is not a weaker tool — it is the same one, inside. DocketRouter supports private pods: keys locked to in-house models running on hardware you control, with the same grounding, the same citation gate, and bring-your-own-key support for the model contracts you already signed. Your data path ends where your network does.

Private-pod keys

API keys restricted to in-house models only — a policy the gateway enforces, not a promise.

Bring your own keys

Your existing provider contracts, encrypted at rest on our side or kept entirely on yours.

Same verification

The citation gate does not relax because the model is yours: unverifiable authority is still removed and disclosed.

Contact us for private-inference sales — deployment shape, hardware sizing, and pricing are scoped per team.
